Tracking Bubble template impressions

Hey there 👋

Here is one for all Bubble template creators. And for everyone else who needs a simple way of tracking impressions on stuff they post on 3rd party sites.

Here is the problem: When you launch a template on Bubble you don’t get good analytics on how many people visit the template site on the Bubble marketplace. The same is true if you post in forums etc.

So, here is a simple way to track impressions:

  1. Find an image. Preferably 1x1 pixels and transparent. Something like this: https://s3.amazonaws.com/appforest_uf/f1653990271198x660806333336330800/1x1.png

  2. Sign up to a link shortener. For this example, I’m using https://t.ly/

  3. Create a new short link, that points to your 1x1 px image.

  4. Embed the link as an image in your template description (or forum post) using BBCode:
    [img]https://bhcks.com/CiYQ[/img]

  5. Use the link shorteners analytics to track your page impression

Done. However, be aware that the ‘Referrers’ stats will be wrong, as the referring page is always the page where the image is embedded, NOT the page that referred the user to your post.

Pro tip: you can also use this approach to embed images on your template page to increase conversions. See example here: https://bubble.io/template/mobile-app--pwa-kit-30-1586972825540x237128367982510080

Some interesting stuff I came across

Simple #CSS to force repeating groups in @bubble to respect element/cell width and display elements nicely. Useful for displaying keywords, etc. Solution in thread #NoCode #bubble

I just founded this random tip in @bubble forum: Try to make a habit of using “:first item is empty” instead of “:count is 0.”
